Frequently travel by plane to different work-related events? With Aclymate, we make accounting for these flights simple. Airplane travel is part of your Scope 3 emissions, and should be considered while accounting for your business' emissions.
If you've connected QuickBooks or have imported a CSV file of financial transactions from your accounting software already- you've probably noticed that we've caught these flights and assigned an emission value to them already. This number is a conservative estimate; assuming that the flight was from LA to NYC. This number is a good start, but it is just a placeholder until we have some additional information about this flight.
If you'd like to add a flight without importing accounting data from your financial software, simply click on the 'Add Single Emission' button on your main Dashboard page, and enter select 'Flights'.
In the summary table on the main Dashboard you can to click on the flight you'd like to modify and provide more detail about the flight itself. This will update the accounting figures for this transaction, and provide you with a highly accurate carbon emission number for that flight.
You'll notice a few important things in the image above: You can select the date of the flight and label it according to your preferences, tag an employee for that flight, mark whether this flight was a round trip flight, one way, or multi-city flight, if the trip was international, and of course- the flight details themselves. Because Aclymate strives to be as accurate as possible we also allow you to add layovers, and pick the passenger class- as all these factors can and will change the emissions footprint of a flight.
Once you have all the information in the first screen up-to-date, click on 'Return Trip' to enter the return information if applicable, then "Save Changes" when you are finished. If you found that a mistake was made while entering this information, you can always select the flight from the Summary Table list in the Dashboard and edit to reflect the accurate flight information.
