Spend Based Emissions Accounting

Starting in April of 2024 Aclymate customers can take advantage of our spend based and vendor management tools to achieve even greater visibility into their emissions footprint, as well as the supply chain they engage with. 

Vendor Setup

There are three different ways a user can set up vendors in their account: 

1) Manually by creating a vendor while adding a single emission

2) Manually by adding the vendor to the vendor list in the orange vendor tab. 

3) By uploading a list of vendor transactions from a CSV file. 

4) By integrating your accounting software with Aclymate.

Manually creating a vendor while adding a single emission: 

On the main Dashboard page, select the 'ADD SINGLE EMISSION' button. If the 'actual' number is not known, select the 'Operations, Spend-based' button. Here you can tag a vendor that may already exist for this transaction, or you can add a new one by clicking on the '+' icon:

Once you will be prompted to add the name of the vendor, pick the industry that aligns with your transaction, and then a dollar amount. We'll then save that vendor under that specific category for future transactions to make the accounting easier.

If you know the names of your primary vendors and want to add them to your account before adding transactions, you can click on the orange 'Vendor' tab to access the vendor management tools. Once there, you can click on the blue "Add Vendors" button and start manually adding the vendors you wish to. As like with the above example- you will simply need to pick the industry that matches your transactions with the vendor and define Scope 3 category. Once setup- you can begin tagging transactions by vendor which will automatically add to your total emissions, and give you a greater understanding of your supply chain emissions: 

Uploading a list of vendor transactions from a CSV file

One of the easiest ways to upload your vendors is by uploading a CSV file from your accounting software directly into Aclymate. We recommend this be done on a monthly basis to keep up with your accounting. Once uploaded we'll automatically create a vendor list for you and after you've given us some basic info about each vendor will store that for future transaction uploads. 

Integrating your accounting software

Once a subscriber of the Aclymate application, you'll unlock the ability to integrate your accounting software directly with the application itself. This will populate a list of vendors that you have purchased from and collect all expenses together under that vendor name. You'll simply need to give the application a few pieces of information to help categorize how you interact with these vendors and the emissions/ dollar spent will automatically be calculated for you. Furthermore, when future transactions sync from your accounting software to Aclymate, we'll recognize the already categorized vendors and automatically add those emissions to your total- so you don't have to!
